The Open Platform Becomes First Web3 Ecosystem in Telegram to Hit $1 Billion Valuation

The Open Platform has achieved unicorn status with a $1 billion valuation following a $28.5 million Series A funding round led by Ribbit Capital. Pantera Capital and other crypto heavyweights backed the raise, bringing total funding to $70 million across two rounds.

Built on TON Blockchain, the project aims to leverage Telegram's 800 million users as an onboarding funnel for crypto adoption. Funding will fuel geographic expansion into the U.S. and EU markets, with capital allocated to regulatory compliance, security infrastructure, and go-to-market strategies.

"We're building the rails and applications needed to onboard a billion users," said CEO Andrew Rogozov, highlighting the synergy between TON's blockchain and Telegram's distribution network. The milestone marks a significant validation of Web3 integration within messaging platforms.
